South Mountain Company (SMCo) is an integrated architecture and engineering, building, interior, and solar company located in West Tisbury, MA (on the island of Martha’s Vineyard). Our staff of 40 includes architects, engineers, interior designers, carpenters, cabinetmakers, solar installers, and administrators - all rolled into one multi-disciplinary team. Commissioning is a quality process verifying and documenting that a completed project or existing building meets the owner’s needs and expectations. Our firm provides commissioning services in all forms – new building commissioning, renovation commissioning, retro-commissioning, ongoing commissioning of existing buildings, commissioning of system retrofits, and recommissioning for reopening.

Structure was founded in 2008, by Peter Jackson Hussey, and has since evolved over time to a small design studio with a team that offers, in house custom cabinetry, millwork and furniture as well as design services and general contracting. We work in all dimensions and projects of all sizes, both big and small, from architectural and building design and kitchen design for custom cabinetry to millwork and furniture design. In addition to our design services, we offer build services such as general contracting & construction management, residential and commercial construction, and custom cabinetry, millwork, and handmade furniture. We love to travel when needed, often working with clients all over New England.
